AP News LONDON (AP) — The British government on Wednesday published a batch of documents related to the appointment of Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the U.S., as police investigate potential misconduct stemming from the ex-diplomat’s ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

The 147-page release was published Wednesday on the government website.

The Latest: Global energy concerns mount as Iran threats stop cargo through the Strait of Hormuz

AP News The ongoing Israeli-American war on Iran, for all its complexity and global effects, boils down to a single question: Who can take the pain the longest? AP News BERLIN (AP) — Germany and Austria said Wednesday they are releasing parts of their oil reserves following an International Energy Agency request for members to release a record 400 million barrels to help temper energy price spikes due to the Iran war.

Japan also said it will release some of its reserves starting Monday.

Group of Seven energy ministers met Tuesday at IEA headquarters in Paris to look at ways to bring down prices that have risen because of the Iran war. IEA executive director Fatih Birol said afterward that they discussed all available options,...

Excluding the volatile food and energy categories, core prices climbed 2.5% from a year ago, also matching January’s level, which was the lowest in five years. Both figures are above the Federal Reserve's 2% target.

AP News NEW YORK (AP) — The U.S. stock market is remaining relatively calm on Wednesday, even as the price of oil gets back to climbing.

The S&P 500 rose 0.1% in early trading and could be heading for another day of relatively modest moves following a punishing stretch of extreme swings caused by the war with Iran.
