AP News OSLO, Norway (AP) — Norway’s Labor Party of Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has claimed victory in Monday’s general election with most votes now counted and with a narrow but clear win by the center-left block over the right-wing parties.

Rapturous cheering erupted in Oslo on Monday night as Labor supporters gathered to celebrate a closely fought campaign in which the future of a wealth tax that dates to the late 19th century has been a central issue.

US upends its role as the high-seas drug police with a military strike on Venezuelan boat

AP News WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard detects and detains scores of drug-running vessels in the Caribbean every year in its role as the world's drug police on the high seas.

Now, that anti-narcotics mission may look vastly different after a U.S. military strike on a vessel off Venezuela. Trump administration officials asserted last week that gang members were smuggling drugs bound for America.

The Trump administration has indicated more military strikes on drug targets could be coming, saying it is seeking to “wage war” on Latin American cartels it accuses of...

Texas' Sarkisian dismisses question about QB Arch Manning possibly having throwing issues

AP News Texas coach Steve Sarkisian rebuffed a question about Arch Manning's physical well-being after videos posted on social media on the weekend sparked speculation the quarterback might have throwing issues.

On the television broadcast during the No. 7 Longhorns' 38-7 win over San Jose State on Saturday, Manning appeared to grimace as he threw a ball short to receiver Ryan Wingo.

During Sarkisian's weekly news conference on Monday, a reporter said that Manning “seemed to be having some throwing pains,” and Sarkisian cut him off.

“According to who? Arch said...
